Kingston, Jamaica:- The Jamaican leg of the Arthur Guinness Celebration was held at the National Stadium on Saturday October 23, 2010 as a celebration of Greatness in Dance Hall music. The celebration featured the likes of Wyclef Jean, Busta Rhymes, Beenie Man, Bounty Killer as well as Lady Saw who invited Jamaican international Slip-N-Slide recording artiste CAMAR to perform their single “Muscle Control” for the very first time since its release.
As a surprise to many, Lady Saw opened the show which immediately sent the night into high energy. Performing her many hits until she invited Camar to the stage to the surprise & excitement of the patrons. Camar showed his distinct flava in his sound, stage presence & overall stage performance which fused with Lady Saw’s raunchy style easily delivered what could possibly be the best performance on the night. What is for certain is, no other song nor performance received three (3) play backs, as the song was performed four (4) times a long with patrons on stage dancing.
From the overwhelming reception of this performance, it is expected that the JAM2 Productions (Jammy ‘Jam2′ James & Camar ‘Flavaunit’ Dorles) produced single which is also on Lady Saw’s latest LP entitled “My Way” will do very well. Camar explains the experience as “It was simply amazing. I have not performed in Jamaica on the main stage for quiet some time and the reception I received was far more than I expected and highly appreciative. I am looking forward to delivering on more stages here in Jamaica. As a performer & producer of Jamaican and dance hall music, I always look forward to sharing my ‘flava’ with the people”.
Their performance set the tone of the night which was on a high energy for the entire night as the likes of Mavado, Big Ship family and the climax of Bounty Killer & Beenie Man performing together their many hit singles over the years in unity was indeed a night of Greatness hosted by Guinness.
