Under the theme Agro Eco-Tourism, HEART Trust/NTA will showcase its commitment to agriculture at the annual JAS Denbigh Agricultural Festival this year. The HEART booth will feature products and hospitality services from its Ebony Park trainees as well as an interactive experience with several Try-A-Skill activities.
Products to be displayed will include decorative plants grown in the ornamental farming program, a wide variety of food crops, and pedigree livestock such as goats and cows.
Trainees specializing in animal rearing will display their techniques in showing and controlling their animals in Denbigh’s Livestock Showcase. Those students who work at the apiary and are responsible for producing Ebony Pride Pure Jamaican Honey will demonstrate bee keeping technologies.
Other trainees are expected to perform well in feature events at this year’s Youth Agricultural Competition sponsored by Jamaica’s 4H club.
To complete the intent of the theme, trainees will also showcase the Ebony Pride label’s processed foods such as Pepper Jelly and Mango Pineapple Spread. A team from the hospitality services will also prepare and serve products at the booth.
Throughout the year trainees at the Ebony Park facility have worked hard to develop their skills in several areas and look forward to showing off their skills and the results of their work at Jamaica’s premier Agricultural event.
This year’s festival promises to reveal the significant role Ebony Park is playing in helping to develop the Jamaica’s agriculture sector.
